About Peter Czuk
 Peter Czuk began building furniture in northern California where he was moved by the tecture and beauty of redwood burl. Now residing in Michigan, Peter fins equal inspiration in the pattern of maple burl and spalted woods. His studio occupies the 1906 Kendall Town Hall where he works building contemporary furniture, sculptural clocks and letter openers. He is currently working on scuptural display towers and shelving systems, incorporating functional adjustability with pleasing forms and beautiful materials.
"I like working on new designs of familiar objects. Take for example a traditional coffee table. It is basically four legs and a top. I think of how many shapes can be used to replace the four leg concept and still be a functional table. Then the challenge is connnectin the shapes in a cohesive balanced form. A table can be seen from many different angles so there are a lot of view points to consider. I'm continually looking for what hasn't been done and have not hit a dead end yet. Success to me is a new twist on a familiar object and having someone else recognize it too."
