About the Artist

Born in the Netherlands, she moved to Washington State in 1963 at the age of 4. She is currently living in Snohomish, Washington with her husband and 2 teenage daughters. The studio is attached to the house, which is in a secluded area with lots of trees and pets.

Technique

All of my pieces begin with Bullseye sheet glass. Flat forms are slumped over rounded forms. Sculpted and carved with a diamond wheel. They are cut and fired in the kiln, possibly re-cut, ground and/or sandblasted and sometimes re-fired in the kiln. All of my work now has matte or satin finish from sand blasting.
